High Power Rocket Club

TRIPOLI HOUSTON conducts launches almost every month of the year at the Hearne Municipal Airport in Hearne Tx. From February to September we also have access to second launch site for Tripoli Houston club members. The new site is in the Alvin area just south of Houston (This site requires a Tripoli Houston membership to attend.) Contact us for additional details.

Members, Clubs, Teams and guests are encouraged and welcome to fly with us at one of our launches.

Membership is not required for the Hearne Launch site but we would love to have your support.

If you enjoy launching with us and find yourself attending regularly, then we recommend you join our merry band of cloud shooters as a club member.

Launch Locations Hearne municipal Airport and South Site

The January 22nd Hearne Launch has been Canceled . The Airport is having a function that caused the issue. See everyone next Month.

Tripoli Houston meets the second Saturday of every month (weather permitting) at the Hearne municipal airport, We will be launching everything from model rockets to monster high power rockets that push our FAA waiver of 16,000 feet. Newcomers are always greeted with a smile (especially if they bring kolaches. It's a Tripoli Houston Thing) and we look forward to meeting you at our next launch.

Tripoli Houston South Site - We will launch at the new site the 4th Saturday of each month - February thru August . Current waiver is 17.5

If you feel ill, have a fever, or have known exposure to COVID-19, STAY HOME!

We request that everyone try to maintain spacing .

Children are also welcome but will need to stay at their vehicle or tent area. When ready to fly we request that a parent or guardian accompany children.

A hand washing station will be provided and hand sanitizer. Mask will also be available if needed.

It will be hot so do not forget to bring water sunscreen and shade.

Launch time 9am to 4pm.

Launch Directions

Directions to the Hearne Airport Launch Site
Directions to the Launch Site:
From Hwy 6, travel North of Hearne until you see the Loves Truck Stop
Turn Left on FM485 to the Entrance to the Municipal Airport
Turn Left into the Airport
Drive past the several aircraf hangars and the Pilot Lobby
Drive onto the Airport tarmac and continue south past remaining hangars
Travel to the end of the tarmac and park along the grassy edge
