The effective date of the exemption is Dec 21, 2018

In some instances, people performing charitable duties (mileage but not compensation for time) on behalf of the non-profit club may deduct their expenses in fulfillment of those duties.  There may be some exclusions, such as functioning as an officer of the club, so folks are encouraged to consult their tax attorney or accountant if claiming this one.  That may encourage more folks to ‘serve’ the club in an official capacity.

 

For those of you that have been considering donating to the club, now you can get a rather large tax deduction for doing so if you itemize.  Contributions to a 501c3 are deductible up to 50% of your AGI.
